   Q. How many 1619 1 tar’i exist as I think I’ve found the 3rd

     Hi Gary, my book lists 8 varieties of the 1619 1 tarì, with 17 coins in museums and 21 in private collections. Across the 8 varieties, the recorded population ranges from two to six coins per variety.
     Although I have not identified a new variety since publication, the recorded population has risen to 22 coins in museums and 39 in private collections. The 8 varieties now range from 3 to 11 coins each.
     If you send me photos of your coin, I will advise you it’s variety and it’s Gatt number.
